A group project for second year at college, studying Game Design and Development. Lead and designed by me, this game is inspired by The Rubáiyát of Omar Khayyám.
The game centres around a young boy separated from his mother who has been arrested by the Shah's guard for stealing the Daria-i-Noor (Sea of Light). So he must navigate the twisting, turning market streets, avoiding the guard, to make his way back to her.

Since I was Creative Lead, it was important that I outline the intended visual style of the project.

I modelled these two characters based on the concept art I had previously created. The intended style of the project included flat colours and a low poly count, which I stuck to as to keep the overall look of the game consistent.
college project
As the concept and story of this project were developed by myself, when my idea was chosen to move forward with, I took on the role of lead.
This was my first experience directing the development of a project, which brought about some new challenges.
Despite these, I believe that Sea of Light was successful given its short development period, with many people attending the launch event.
